LinkedIn Optimisation

The first in the LinkedIn optimization process is ensuring all required fields of the profile are filled out. Including an appropriate profile photo can be considered as a first step in optimizing your LinkedIn profile. Using a professional-looking headshot boosts the visibility of our profile in search results. Including a creative headline within the profile helps differentiate the profile from others by positioning ourselves within our field. It also serves as a first impression, as it is the first thing that pops up when people search for us. Another key step in achieving All-Star status is including a short section about myself. Here I highlight my background, key skills and future career aspirations. Completing all education fields helps optimize my profile by connecting me with current colleagues, alumni’s or even recruiters. By listing all relevant jobs and experience, I highlight my real-world skills and work ethic, showing my active career building. Writing short description for each experience allows for people to understand my role as well as the knowledge acquired. Listing the same skills, I earned through my experience allows exposure during searches. I highlighted the main 8 skills acquired during my experience job, overcoming the 5 minimum. Working on expanding my network shows my activity and engagement, having over a minimum of 50 connections allows for more visibility in the application and a higher likelihood of recognition. Finally, personalizing my URL link can show I pay attention to detail, but also increase the likelihood of remembrance. When it comes to my Social Selling Score, I hope to achieve higher scores in the future, where my experience will be able to more directly align with my career aspirations or jobs.
